We are often driving or wrangling dogs so phone calls are best scheduled in advance.

For time-sensitive updates about a dog scheduled that day, please text us.

It depends on the service!

Regular Weekly Hiking Club spots are reserved specifically for you and cannot be rescheduled. We ask for two weeks notice if you need to discontinue service or have holidays planned.

For Drop-In Hiking Club bookings, you can reschedule online up to 24 hours prior.

Cancellations are considered on a case-by-case basis.

For private lessons and boarding, we ask that you give us 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule.

Please see your Service Agreement for more details on these policies.

We recommend creating a client account to keep track of, and manage, your bookings.

To set one up, find your most recent booking confirmation email → click ‘Change/Cancel’ → then click ‘Sign Up’ in the top right.

You can also use this process to reset your password.

Regular Weekly Hiking Club and our dog sitting are booked by us, invoiced monthly and paid by e-transfer. Please add ‘scheduling@acuityscheduling-mail.com‘ to your safe senders list to make sure invoices get to you.

Drop-In Hiking Club, Group Classes and Private Lessons are booked by you using our website and paid for by credit card.

Regular Weekly spots are perfect if your dog needs the same days every week. We reserve the spot for you and invoice monthly.

Drop-In is better if your schedule changes. You book online yourself and can reschedule up to 24 hours prior if needed.

The morning hike runs from 9am to 1pm and the afternoon hike from 1pm to 5pm.

Please think of pick-ups and drop-offs as being within time windows, not exact times.

Dogs, traffic and the day's adventures can all affect our timing! We thank you for your patience.

Please let us know what access arrangements you would like to make such as a key or garage door code.

We offer home or office pick-up and drop-off in Cumberland, Royston and West Courtenay.

For Comox and out-of-town clients, we meet at the Cumberland Peace Park.

We service Union Bay and Fanny Bay on Wednesday afternoons.

Our online calendar shows availability in real time.

If you don't see a date or time available, it means that we are already fully booked.

But don't worry—you can join the waitlist and we'll let you know if a spot opens up!

Dogs need a well-fitted flat collar, martingale collar or front-clip harness.

Your dog's equipment needs to fit securely so they cannot back out of it or become caught on something.

We recommend ID tags with your dog's name and your telephone number.

If the equipment that you provide is not safe or appropriate, we reserve the right to use our own equipment.

Hiking Club dogs need to be well socialized with other dogs and people. They also need to be able to walk on leash without excessive pulling.

For everyone's safety, dogs need to be able to recall reliably and should not chase cars, bikes, runners or wildlife.

If your dog does not yet have these skills, we will leash them when appropriate or may recommend training before they can safely enjoy off-leash hiking.

Our goal is to provide fun and adventurous off-leash exercise which means that dogs may get wet and muddy.

We do our best to return them to you in reasonable condition but there will be some evidence of their adventure remaining.

Towels are always appreciated!

It can be helpful to have a crate or other dog-safe area where your dog can hang out while they dry off.

If your dog has a particular talent for finding and rolling in the dead and disgusting, let us know in advance. We'll make a plan together!

We post daily photo and video updates on our social media pages, as well as using them to share information on new offerings or service changes, so please follow along!

We will send a short text message to let you know that your dog is home safely after hiking.

Our Hiking Club has room for 8 dogs. On occasion we may accept an additional dog at short notice to help a client with a scheduling challenge.

We offer dog sitting in our home. If you are planning holidays please keep us in the loop as you decide on your dates.

Dogs will require a bed or blanket that smells of home, their food and food bowl. They should be crate trained. We will require two local emergency contacts and for you to let your vet know that you are travelling and have us put on their file.

We accept dogs needing muzzles and e-collars on a case by case basis.

If your dog requires a muzzle, please let us know so we can make sure we have an appropriate plan for everyones safety and comfort.

If your dog wears an e-collar, as with all equipment, we want to make sure the equipment is being used safely and correctly.
