Hiking Club Welcome!
Pick-up & Drop-off Times & Locations.Pick up for morning hikes is between 8-9am, with drop off between 12-1pm. Pick up for afternoon hikes is between 12-1pm with drop off between 4-5pm.
We offer pick up and drop off for dogs of Cumberland, Royston and West Courtenay. Dogs from Comox and out of town are welcome to meet us in Cumberland.
Required Skills. For everyones safety and enjoyment we require dogs to have reasonable leash walking skills and a reliable recall, including away from other dogs and people. We try very hard to model responsible dog ownership and not interrupt or be a nuisance to other trail users. We will work with you to fill any gaps; offering feedback on how your dog is doing and suggestions for further training or equipment changes.
Dirty, Muddy, Wet and Stinky! We do our best to bring you home a happy and tired dog. This sometimes means muddy puddles, swimming and rolling. There are limits to how much clean up we can do so please expect, and be understanding of, some dirt or dampness. Trimming long haired breeds on their legs, tummy and tail can help considerably. If your house is very clean, your dog likes getting dirty or rolling in stinky things then we can arrange a place to leave them such as a garage or crate.
Rescheduling and Cancellations. As a small business we cannot offer refunds for cancellations. You can however reschedule your hike up to 24 hours prior using your online account, if your needs change. Please read our Service Agreement for more detailed information on these policies.
Referrals, reviews and feedbackWe thrive on referrals so if you are happy please consider referring us to your friends and family or on social media platforms. Reviews are also helpful on our Facebook and Google pages. If you have any suggestions to help us be better then we are always grateful to hear them.
Regular slots and Drop in's.We offer guaranteed regular spots for those that need consistency as well as drop in spots for those needing more flexibility. Guaranteed spots are booked by us and we invoice bi-weekly. Drop in’s can be booked online by you and paid for by credit card at the time of booking.
Equipment We prefer dogs to wear a well fitted flat or martingale collar with their ID tags. A loose collar can be a safety hazard that allows a dog to ‘back out’ of it and get free or that can get caught on something. If we feel that the equipment that you provide is not safe we may use our own. We are familiar with the use of e-collars should your dog wear one.
Boarding/Pet Sitting. We charge a flat rate of $70/day. This is regardless of pick up or drop off times. Pick up and drop off times are between 8am and 6pm. Dogs should be crate trained, vaccinated and current on tick and flea medication. They will need their bowl, food and a bed or blanket that smells of home.
Hot and cold weatherDuring the warmer months of July and August afternoon hikes will only show on the calendar 1-2 weeks in advance to be sure that the temperatures are safe.
